There is a wider yoke for the waistband to allow for extra support and movement when you are actually practicing./working out. These Mermaid Pants look amazing but more importantly are so comfortable to practice yoga or most any other exercise activities

The diamond crotch feature takes the pressure of the stretch for the practitioner but also for the fabric and that is only a good thing.
